Aunt Kate's Coffee Cake

Topping
  1. 3 T flour
  2. 1/2 t cinnamon
  3. 1/4 cup sugar
  4. 2 T butter (cold)
Batter
  1. 1 1/2 cup flour
  2. 2 1/2 t baking powder
  3. 1/4 t salt
  4. 3/4 cup sugar
  5. 1/4 cup Crisco
  6. 1 egg
  7. 1 cup milk
Topping
  1. Blend together dry ingredients.
  2. Cut in butter (should resemble small peas)
  3. Set aside.
Batter
  1. Blend together dry ingredients.
  2. Cut in shortening.
  3. Beat egg and combine with milk. Add to flour mixture.
  4. Pour into greased 9 x 12 glass baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle topping on evenly.
  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
