Ingredients
1 pound dried green split peas (2 cups)
8 cups hot water
1 ham bone with meat
1 cup additional fully cooked ham
2 cups sliced carrots
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped onion
2 bay leaves
1 t salt, optional
1/2 t garlic powder
1/2 t pepper
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
Directions
- In crock pot add all ingredients except carrots and celery. Set to “High” setting and cook for 3 hours.
- Add carrots and celery and cook 1 additional hour.
