Ingredients
1/2 cup + 3 1/2 tablespoons butter, softened (divided for different uses)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon cinnamon (divided for different uses)
8 slices thick, soft bread
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup sugar (for assembly)
1/2 cup cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 cup powdered sugar
Directions
- Cinnamon Butter
- Mix 1/2 cup softened butter, brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon.
- Bread
- Remove crusts, roll slices flat, and spread with cinnamon butter. Roll tightly.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla. Dip each bread roll quickly, ensuring they are fully coated. Fry in remaining butter until golden all around.
- Mix sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Roll the cooked bread in this sugar mixture.
- Icing
- Blend softened butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar until smooth, using as a drizzle or dip.
