Nothing better than some freshly made Fried Shrimp! You’ve probably had these thousands of times at restaurants but now it’s time to make your own! You’ll be glad you did.

Fried Fantail Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 12 large shrimp, 31/35 count, uncooked

  • Vegetable oil

  • 1/2 cup flour

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 cup bread crumbs

  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 2 tbs horseradish (more if you like it HOT!!)

  • Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 lemon

Directions

  • Heat oil (2-3 inches) in deep fat fryer or large kettle to 385°.
  • Remove outer shell from shrimp.
  • Slice down the back of the shrimp and spread apart (Be careful not to cut all the way through.) Dust each shrimp with flour then dip in mixture of beaten egg and milk, then dredge through bread crumbs.
  • Place breaded shrimp in freezer for at least 2 hours.
  • Fry until golden brown.
